Some ICTSB members perform joint activities which have not been operated under the umbrella of the ICTSB but followed by it with interest.
CEN/ISSS
has set up a group to examine the standardization aspects of technologies
for digital rights management (CEN/ISSS DRM Group), following the
approval of the European
Union Directive 2001/29/EC
on the harmonisation of certain aspects
of copyright and related rights in the context of the Information
Society. The results
are reported on the CEN/ISSS web-site.
Upon discussions
between the ESOs and the European Commission, a joint CEN/ETSI group
had been installed to evaluate existing security standards and to
identify possible gaps, with regard to the recommendations made
by the European Commission. The NIS group was open to any interested
party and ICTSB members were invited to provide contributions. The results are published as ETSI SR 002 298
